Pál Elekes in Here Come the Puppets!

Pál Elekes (1929-1996) was a Hungarian voice actor and puppeteer who dubbed Dr. Teeth on Breki és a többiek (The Muppet Show) and was later heard on A mesemondó (The StoryTeller) as one of the devils in "The Soldier and Death." As a puppeteer, Elekes was seen in the 1980 special Here Come the Puppets!, playing a cat in a performance by Állami Bábszínház, the Hungarian state puppet theater. Jim Henson narrates the performance and Elekes is shown during the cast bows.

After studying acting and having small parts in two stage plays, Elekes shifted to puppeteering with Állami Bábszínház (later renamed the Budapest puppet theater) from 1950 to 1994. His puppet theater roles included Father Wolf in The Jungle Book and the wolf in The Three Little Pigs (both with Hugó Gruber), multiple characters in Stravinsky's Petrushka, the title role in a version of the Hungarian epic poem John the Valiant, and Oberon in A Midsummer's Night Dream. He puppeteered on television including the series Mi újság a Futrinka utcában?

Elekes entered dubbing in 1960, lending his voice to José Ferrer in Lawrence of Arabia, George Burns in Going in Style, Mel Brooks as Yoghurt in Spaceballs, and various supporting players. He dubbed George Irving in Bringing Up Baby, Duke Ellington in Anatomy of a Murder, Leo G. Carroll in The Parent Trap, Rex Robbins in The Secret of My Succe$s, and Zordon in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie. He was heard in the Hungarian animated feature Cat City, while TV dubbing included Elisha Cook, Jr. on Magnum, P.I. and guest stars on Columbo.
