Paul Evans (b. 1938) is a singer and songwriter who was a popular recording artist in the 1960s (scoring a hit singing "Seven Little Girls Sitting on the Backseat.") As a songwriter, Evans often teamed with Paul Parnes (including "The Next Step Is Love," recorded by Elvis Presley).

Evans and Parnes wrote "Happiness Is," which was sung in many early Sesame Street episodes. He later worked with Parnes on the 1981 album Big Bird Discovers the Orchestra (co-writing "Concerto for Pots and Pans.") As a session singer, he was part of the Sing-along Singers on Sesame Street Christmas Sing-Along (1984).

Beyond his own albums, Evans was heard on commercial jingles and sang in Woody Allen's Mighty Aphrodite (for the chorus) and Everyone Says I Love You. He was a frequent guest on The Dick Clark Show.
