Peggy Lee was a singer and songwriter, known for her sultry delivery of jazz ballads and torch songs, such as "Fever." Occasional recordings were used on Sam and Friends.
Initially singing with Benny Goodman's orchestra and then on the radio shows of Jimmy Durante and others, she became a best-selling recording artist. Lee took occasional acting roles (receiving an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress in Pete Kelly's Blues) and co-wrote all of the songs for Walt Disney's Lady and the Tramp. She also supplied the voices of Peg (named after her, and singing "He's a Tramp"), Si and Am, and Lady's owner Darling.
