The popular jazz song "Pennies from Heaven" was introduced by Bing Crosby in the 1936 film of the same name. It quickly became a hit, and has been recorded by many artists such as Billie Holiday, Louis Armstrong, Tony Bennett, and Frank Sinatra.
The Muppets and Shirley Bassey sing "Pennies from Heaven" during episode 504 of The Muppet Show. In this rendition, pennies literally rain from the sky every time Bassey sings the title phrase of the song and Fozzie gathers his friends to gather up the free money.
The song was spoofed on Sesame Street as "Trash Outta Heaven."
