People's Choice Awards are an annual American awards show recognizing the people and the work of popular culture. The show has been held annually since 1975 and is voted by the general public. The People's Choice Awards air on CBS and are produced by Procter & Gamble and Survivor magnate Mark Burnett. The awards were based upon results from Gallup polls on different categories for favorite actor, actress, movie, artist, television program or group.
Appearances[]
- The tenth annual televised ceremony was taped on March 15, 1984. That year, the nominees for Favorite Children's TV Program were Fraggle Rock, The Muppet Show, and Sesame Street. Presenter Loretta Swit said that the honorees were here tonight, but seats were demanding; the only place for them was in the kitchen. The scene takes place in the kitchen where Scooter, Kermit the Frog, Fozzie Bear, Gonzo, Janice, Bert, Ernie, The Two-Headed Monster, Count von Count, Cookie Monster, Uncle Traveling Matt, and Sprocket are sitting at a table together and commenting on where they are placed at. The Swedish Chef appeared in the kitchen as he tries to cook an omelet. When the award went to Sesame Street, the award was accepted by Bob McGrath, Sonia Manzano, and Emilio Delgado.
