People in Your Neighborhood is a 1979 Sesame Street poster book, with eight full-page pictures of the Sesame Street Muppets performing jobs. The book is an extension of the "People in Your Neighborhood" learning concept, first established in a song performed in the show's first season, and later used in books, records and toys. The photos used here were also used for tray puzzles made by Western Publishing.
The contents are:
- Big Bird, posing as a mail carrier.
- Grover as a waiter.
- The Count, as a cashier.
- Betty Lou, as a carpenter (the book mislabels her as Prairie Dawn)
- Oscar the Grouch, as a newspaper dealer.
- Cookie Monster, as a baker.
- Bert, as a shoemaker.
- Ernie, as a barber.
