- A Sam and Friends segment used the track "Poisen to Poisen" from the 1959 album Spike Jones in Stereo. Lip-synching to the voices of Paul Frees, Harry the Hipster portrays Murrow (or "Ed Burrow") interviewing Alfred (Chicken Liver).
- Stan Freberg's own take on the series, "Person to Pearson" (1954), was also used on Sam and Friends, with Freberg (imitating Murrow) as Edward N. Nonymous interviewing the homeless J. Pierpont Pearson (played by Daws Butler in his Elroy Jetson voice but as an old man). The record was transcribed on August 28, 1957[1] and used in episodes on February 9, 1959[2] and an estimated date of October 9, 1961.[3]
