"Peter Cottontail" is a 1949 Easter song first recorded in 1950 by Mervin Shiner. It was written by Steve Nelson and Jack Rollins, who also composed the popular song "Frosty the Snowman" in the same year.
It was used as the title song of the Rankin/Bass special Here Comes Peter Cottontail (with voices by Casey Kasem, Danny Kaye, and Vincent Price).
