Peter Dinklage Frank Oz

Dinklage and Frank Oz filming Death at a Funeral.

Peter Dinklage (b. 1969) is an American actor, active in the industry since the mid-1990s.

Dinklage appears in Sesame Street season 44. Speaking of his experience filming with the Muppet performers, he said:

I did Sesame Street a little while ago, and those puppeteers are hilariously dirty. When the kids aren't around, it's like being in a muppet [sic] brothel. I think that's how they keep their sanity. When you're doing stuff for kids all day, you have to unload every once in a while. I had a muppet [sic] humping my leg. It was fantastic.[1]

His other credits include playing Tyrion Lannister on HBO's Game of Thrones, Miles Finch in Elf (with Will Ferrell and Zooey Deschanel), Trumpkin in The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, and Bolivar Trask in X-Men: Days of Future Past (with Patrick Stewart).

He appeared in both versions of Death at a Funeral, the first incarnation of which was directed by Frank Oz. When asked about working with Oz, and if he'd asked him to do Yoda's voice, Dinklage responded:

Oh my god, no. That would be too real, it would blow your mind. Your head would explode. I worked with Frank years ago on a movie called Death at a Funeral, and it was an ensemble with a bunch of guys around my age. If you're in your 40s, you're a Star Wars freak. It took a lot for us to control ourselves, but we all managed it. He was amazing for reasons that had nothing to do with Yoda. Like his cursing.[1]

When asked what was so amazing about his cursing, Dinklage responded:

That he was doing it at all. I mean, I have a foul mouth, and everyone I know has a foul mouth. Every other word out of our mouth is "fuck." But you hear someone like Frank, who's such a part of your childhood, swearing up a storm, it's just jaw-dropping.[1]
