Peter Lurye in Studio

Peter Lurye is a composer and lyricist who worked on the soundtrack and a variety of songs for Bear in the Big Blue House, and also wrote many songs for the show. He also wrote the theme song for Animal Jam and in addition wrote the theme song for another Playhouse Disney series, Stanley. Peter Lurye also wrote songs for The Book of Pooh, which had numerous other Muppet crew connections.

Lurye wrote the score for The Magic School Bus as well as the theme song performed by Little Richard, as well as the theme song for Gullah Gullah Island and several other songs with veteran Big Blue House song composer, Billy Cobin. Lurye was also called to write a Christmas-themed version of the theme song for the popular Nickelodeon series Dora the Explorer, which was featured in the special Dora's Christmas Carol Adventure.
