Peter Marshall (b. 1927), while an actor and a singer, is best known for his Emmy Award-winning role as "The Master" of The Hollywood Squares from 1966 to 1981.

During Marshall's run on The Hollywood Squares (and the Saturday morning version The Storybook Squares), Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch both made appearances. Just as he did with Mr. Hooper, Big Bird would struggle with Marshall's name, referring to him as Mr. Marshmallow for example.
