Philip Wende was an illustrator and sometimes author of children's books. He illustrated the 1976 coloring book The Sesame Street A to Z Coloring Book.
Wende was active primarily in the sixties and seventies. For Random House, he illustrated two Doctor Dolittle books for the Beginner Books series, as well as multiple children's dictionaries. He supplied art for the 1969 book The Incredible Thrilling Adventures of the Rock by future Saturday Night Live writer Michael O'Donoghue. On his own, Wende wrote and rendered four books including Hector, the Dog Who Loves Fleas and the sequel Hector Has a Flea Circus.
