Pier del Sol is an annual fundraising event held at the Santa Monica Pier and Pacific Park in California, held in benefit for Special Olympics Southern California.
On October 9, 2005, Miss Piggy was honored at the event "as a role model for her courage and perseverance."[1] She appeared alongside California First Lady Maria Shriver and Anne Sweeny, co-chair of Disney Media and President of the Disney–ABC Television Group, as well as Leave It to Beaver actor Jerry Mathers.
