A pair of pigeons appear in Dr. Dolittle, seeking marriage counseling from Dr. John Dolittle. The female pigeon complains that her husband has no interest in her or other pigeons, instead harboring delusions that he might look a little like a bluejay or some other bird. The pair recur at various points during the film, and the male finally embraces his true pigeon by scattering droppings on Dr. Mark Weller.
The pigeons were among the few animal characters in the film who were almost entirely a product of Jim Henson's Creature Shop, with the primary exception of flying shots.
