Platinum All-Time Favorites was first released on CD and cassette in 1995. The album was reissued on CD by Koch Records in 2008. The re-released album includes the same track listing, with new cover art and a lyrics booklet.
In 2015, the album was selected by the Library of Congress to be inducted in the National Recording Registry.[1]

- The 2018 digital release through Arts Music includes two notable differences from prior releases.
- The ¡Sesame Mucho! version of "The People in Your Neighborhood" is used rather than the original album performance.
- The version of "Elmo's Song" is the one from Elmo's Favorite Sing-Alongs, retaining bookending dialogue from the album.
