Playhouse Disney was the name of a preschool-oriented programming block that aired in the United States on Disney Channel until February 2011, and a full digital cable television station in Canada and other non-U.S. markets. In the United Kingdom they aired Muppet Babies from 2005-2007. They also broadcast Play With Me Sesame (UK). In addition, Play with Me Sesame was broadcasted on Playhouse Disney Spain in fall of 2003 and Playhouse Disney France in April 2004.[1]

The U.S. lineup aired Bear in the Big Blue House and Breakfast with Bear, as well as The Book of Pooh, a non-Muppet program with numerous Muppet connections.

In February 2011, the programming block was re-branded as Disney Junior, and a full 24 hour U.S. network with this name premiered on March 23, 2012, replacing the all soap-opera channel SOAPNet. This re-branding is also being applied on a staggered basis to Playhouse Disney channels in non-U.S. markets.
