The UK version of Playhouse Disney, which functioned as a block on Disney Channel as well as gaining a dedicated television channel, initially featured a completely different format that was different to its American counterpart, which featured live presentation.
Fronted by Dave Benson Phillips and Alex Lovell, named "Big Dave" and "Little Alex" respectively, the two presenters would dedicate a day to a different topic, ranging from the shows of the network, to hobbies. One example of a "Day" is "Bear Day" from 1999/2000, where Bear makes a special guest appearance. One clip from Bear Day was included on a promotional VHS tape, where he teaches Dave and Alex how to do "The Bear Cha-Cha-Cha".
