Pleasantville is a 1998 film written and directed by Gary Ross about a pair of modern day siblings who become trapped in a seemingly idyllic 1950s-style TV show.
References[]
- After Glenn denies Daniel's request to help Kermit the Frog in It's a Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie, Daniel decides to go over his head and take the problem straight to The Boss. Not believing he'd be so bold as to break with tradition by entering The Boss's domain, Glenn remarks, "What's next? We're all gonna wear color?" (referencing his divine organization's apparent policy for an all-white fashion ensemble). Glenn is portrayed by William H. Macy who appeared as the conservative father character in Pleasantville who was reluctant to change, including the transition from a literal black-and-white town to a colorful world.
