Walk-around versions of Prairie Dawn created for public appearances, including the Sesame Street Live stage shows and Sesame Place theme parks.
Prairie Dawn made her debut as a walk-around in the second Sesame Street Live production, Big Bird's Super Spectacular Totally Amateur Show, in 1981. To balance out the mostly male Muppet cast, she was added to later runs of the original Sesame Street Live and remained a main character in later editions through the 1990s.
Prairie was added to Sesame Place in 1988, and also appears at Sesame Place's Mexican counterpart Parque Plaza Sésamo, and at SeaWorld parks (San Antonio since 2018, Orlando since 2019). Prairie formerly appeared at SeaWorld San Diego (joined in 2018).
