Princess Charming is the daughter of the monarch ruling the Land of Sesame in CinderElmo.
Approaching her 18th birthday, the princess is informed by the royal Prime Monster that she must find a man to marry, or her family will lose the kingdom. To avoid the legal disaster, the king and queen throw "Princess Charming's 18th Birthday Holiday Find-a-Husband Ball" and invite everyone from the kingdom.
Her suitors include CinderElmo, Telly (though he's mostly just interested in marrying her to please his mother, who wants one of her kids to marry the princess), Baby Bear, Ernie, Bert, several Anything Muppets, and Prince the Dog (in human form). When the night comes to an end, Princess Charming's father forces her to make a decision about whom to marry, and in a rush, she chooses her last dance partner. She doesn't catch his name, but the king finds the shoe he left behind and vows that his daughter will marry whomever the shoe fits.
The following day, Princess Charming finds CinderElmo and explains the situation. Elmo laughs at the idea of marriage before kindergarten, and asks why the king can't "Do Something." As lawmaker of the land, the king decrees that the princess may marry the man of her dreams whenever she's ready.
