"Purple Konkers" is a Sesame Street animated song about subtraction, produced during the show's sixth season.
Five purple konkers, oblong fuzzy creatures, spend their time doing what they do best: rhythmically konking the tops of their heads with their oversized fists. During the song, several meet their demise with each verse, one being consumed by a fish, another by a bird, and a third being trapped within a ream of sticky wallpaper. The remaining two decide to get married and produce an offspring. Though it is not a konker, the song is changed to be about "two purple konkers and one yellow honker" (not to be confused with a later Muppet species) who remain a loving family.
The song's concept is based on the British rhyme "Ten Little Indians," famously used by Agatha Christie for her novel in which guests are killed off one by one.
