"Purple People Eater" is a hit novelty single by Sheb Wooley. The song details the exploits of the titular extraterrestrial creature who has come to Earth not to eat people as his name suggests, but rather play in a rock and roll band. The song would go on to be covered by the likes of Judy Garland and Shaggy Rogers, and also inspired a 1988 film.
The song was performed in the Muppet Babies live stage show Magic Box.
