Queen Latifah with Prairie Dawn and Merry Monster from her Sesame Street appearance in 1992.

Queen Latifah (born Dana Owens, 1970) is an Oscar-nominated actress, Grammy-winning hip-hop emcee, and standards singer who played Aunt Em in the 2005 TV-movie The Muppets' Wizard of Oz.

She has also appeared on Sesame Street along with Prairie Dawn, Telly Monster and Merry Monster in a song about the letter O, spoofing her own hit "That's the Way We Flow." In the segment, she wears Western-style clothing and a traditional west African head wrap both made of kente cloth. She also appeared in Coming Home: Military Families Cope With Change, with the Sesame Street Muppets and John Mayer.

Her film roles include parts in Chicago, and Bringing Down the House (with Steve Martin). She is also a cosmetics model for Cover Girl.

She appeared in "Yakety Yak - Take It Back," a 1991 recycling PSA that eventually aired on Sesame Street. The Muppets appeared in a series of Pizza Hut commercials, which she narrated.

In 2014, Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy appeared on her eponymous show to promote Muppets Most Wanted.
