Questlove (b. Ahmir Khalib Thompson in 1971) is a member of The Roots.
Due to his work with The Roots, he has appeared with the Muppets on several occasions, most notably on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and The Tonight Show.
In 2015, he served as DJ for the Sesame Street float in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. The same year, Questlove composed and produced the music track for the Sesame Street song, "B is for Book." He later made a guest appearance on the show in Episode 4913.
His directorial debut, the documentary The Summer of Soul, received a number of awards including Best Documentary Feature at the Academy Awards. It features archival footage from the first five of six weekends of the 1969 Harlem Cultural Festival. The film crew was shooting one of the pilots to Sesame Street during the sixth weekend.[1]
