Raúl Juliá (1940-1994) was a Puerto Rican actor whose career spanned stage and screen and included dramatic, comic, and musical roles. Early in his career, Juliá played Rafael (Luis's original Fix-It Shop partner) on Sesame Street in season 3.
Juliá received four Tony Award nominations for his roles in Two Gentlemen of Verona (1972), Where's Charley? (1975), The Threepenny Opera (1977, as Mack the Knife), and in the Fellini-inspired Nine (1982). His best known film roles include Valentin Arregui in Kiss of the Spider Woman, Gomez Addams in the two Addams Family movies, and M. Bison in the 1994 Street Fighter movie. Other films include Frankenstein Unbound (as the titular doctor), Moon Over Parador (with Kiss of the Spider Woman co-star Sônia Braga), Compromising Positions (with Susan Sarandon), and Presumed Innocent (with John Spencer).
