Raquel Welch (1940-2023) was an actress who appeared in The Muppet Show episode 311.
For the episode of The Muppet Show, Welch opened the show by performing "Baby It's Me" (originally performed/covered by Diana Ross) with a human-sized spider puppet.
She also performed "Confide in Me" with a very nervous, insecure Fozzie Bear, in which she boosted the bear's confidence by calling him "sexsational" -- her final performance with Miss Piggy was "W-O-M-A-N". Originally a solo number, Miss Piggy weasels her way in at the last moment (as always).
Welch also appeared on the cover of Us magazine with Kermit on November 28, 1978, and made a brief appearance in the 1979 special The Muppets Go Hollywood.
When she hosted Saturday Night Live during the first season, she interacted with Scred and King Ploobis, who made clumsy romantic overtures toward her.
