Ray Bolger (1904-1987) was a comedic actor and dancer best known for playing the Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz (1939). Already a headliner in vaudeville, he played himself in The Great Ziegfeld, while on Broadway he starred in the musical version of Charley's Aunt, Where's Charley? (reprising it for the 1952 film). Later credits include starring as Barnaby in the Disney version of Babes in Toyland (with Ed Wynn) and occasional guest appearances on The Partridge Family as Shirley's father.
