René Magritte (1898-1967) was a Belgian surrealist artist. He became well known for a number of witty and thought-provoking images. His work challenges observers' preconditioned perceptions of reality.

- The song "Semi-Weirdo" from the Muppet Babies episode "The Weirdo Zone" features Baby Gonzo in a spoof of "Golconde" holding umbrellas, a common object in Magritte's work. The song also features a more straightforward reference to "The Great War on Façades" with Gonzo driving by behind the woman.
