"Renovating the Fix-It Shop" is a Sesame Street story arc that took place over several episodes in Season 11 (1980).
A lot had changed in the eight years since the Fix-It Shop opened for business. After the culmination of some crowding and a minor mishap in the shop, Luis decided to renovate his place of vocation. Over the course of two weeks in 1980, the shop halted operations to support the updates, with the project resulting in a streamlined workspace.
The arc notably re-introduces the character of Telly Monster, stripped of the elements of his original, television-obsessed persona, and put in the hands of performer Brian Muehl, who would continue to perform the character for some years after. The arc also marks the return of Poco Loco, now performed by Michael Earl.
