Rian is a Gelfling who is one of the three main protagonists of The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance. He was formerly a guard of the Crystal Castle and he had helped spark the resistance against the Skeksis after he witnessed them draining his significant other, Mira.
After the Skeksis realize that Rian had escaped with the knowledge of their plan to drain Gelfling, as well as Mira's remaining essence, SkekSil plants a rumor saying that Rian killed Mira, so other Gelfling could cast him out, and to prevent a rebellion from sparking.
