Volume 6 of the Finding Out Encyclopedia
Richard Carlisle is an author and editor of children's books, primarily educational titles like encyclopedias or dictionaries. He was editor and main writer for the Sesame Street Finding Out Encyclopedia series.
Carlisle was editor for Cavendish's The Illustrated Encyclopedia of Knowledge (1978) and later editor-in-chief for The Illustrated Encyclopedia of Mankind (1989). He wrote alphabet books, dictionaries, and storybooks for the Letterland series and authored several books dealing with childhood fears in story form (Who's Afraid of the Dark?, Who's Afraid of Spiders?, etc.)
