Richard Marcus is a television writer who scripted the third season Dinosaurs episode "Honey, I Miss the Kids." He also scripted the album Dinosaurs: Classic Tales, writing dinosaur-themed spoofs of fairytales. He later co-wrote the story for The Wubbulous World of Dr. Seuss episode "The Birthday Moose" (with Will Ryan and Craig Shemin).

Marcus wrote for the sitcoms Alice, Amen (with Sherman Hemsley), Too Close for Comfort, and Small Wonder, as well as The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson and My Secret Identity (with Jerry O'Connell). He penned the screenplay for the 2005 film Checking Out (starring Peter Falk, adapted from the play by Allen Swift).
