Richie is an Anything Muppet who visits the Library in Episode 0319.
He's greeted by Maria who initially confuses him for his brother Frankie. Richie explains that he came to borrow a big book, so Maria offers him a few options. He ultimately takes three of them — including a massive volume of Webster's New World Dictionary — and stacks them on the ground. The small tower of books enables Richie to see high enough to browse an assortment of books laid out in a cart. Now that he's ready for a book he really wants to read, he asks Maria if she has any Bugs Bunny.
He also appeared with Mr. Hooper in Episode 0308, Rafael in Episode 0322, and in Episode 0393 attempting to cure Grover of his hiccups.

- A character named Rollo with the same puppet build, hair, shirt, and voice (Spinney) had previously appeared in Episode 0201, but without the green nose that would eventually be added for Richie and other identical characters.
- Maria confuses Richie for his brother Frankie in Episode 0319. He's unseen, but the implication is that they are identical.
- Another AM who looks identical to Richie, wears the same clothes, and speaks in the same voice (also Spinney), appears in Episode 0304 under the name Fremont. It's not clear if this is an evolution of the character (who goes unnamed in the script), or if this is another sibling of Richie and Frankie.
- The same AM with the same Spinney voice, this time named Hathaway, appears with Kermit the Frog in Episode 0376, and again with Rafael in Episode 0378.
