Robert McCormack was the supervisor at the Muppet Workshop during the late 1970s and early 1980s, credited as such on The Muppet Show and the films The Muppet Movie and The Great Muppet Caper.
Previously an acting student at the University of Washington, McCormack began working for Henson Associates around 1975 as a gofer, taking the job while still aiming to be an actor. As the company grew, McCormack put acting on the backburner and gradually became the Muppet Workshop supervisor, responsible for overseeing the designing and building of the Muppet characters.
During his time as supervisor, McCormack also gave public lectures on puppet making and his work with the Muppets, including at a Lancaster, Pennsylvania performing arts school in 1980.
