DEBUT | 2011 |
A lavender Muppet rabbit received the name Rodney from the Amazing Mumford in Episode 4270 of Sesame Street, where he's frequently seen popping out of the magician's hat.
Rodney visually resembles a small lavender Anything Muppet, but possesses larger hands and has specially built rabbit ears, feet, and a muzzle.
As with most utility puppets on Sesame Street, the rabbit has gone through various performers.
- Ryan Dillon performed the rabbit in a prominent speaking role for a 2012 online video with Elmo about practicing. Here, the character is simply referred to as "Rabbit." (YouTube)
- Joey Mazzarino performed him in a Super Grover 2.0 segment, where he appeared as one of several woodland animals throwing a party. (First: Episode 4507)
- Matt Vogel played the rabbit in an insert where Elmo and Abby Cadabby try to find out what's hopping in Abby's picnic basket. (YouTube)
- Kevin Clash put on the puppet as a demonstration while in the Muppet Workshop during a 2011 Nightline segment on Being Elmo.
- Tyler Bunch performed him in "My Abby: Animals."
