Roger Lumont (b. 1936) is a French voice actor who dubbed Fozzie Bear in Les Muppets, the French dub of The Muppet Movie.
Lumont began as a stage actor and moved to film, making his debut as a German army engineer in 1964's The Train (with Burt Lancaster and Paul Scofield). He usually played character roles or small parts, such as officials or servants, in vehicles for French comedians Louis de Funès and Bourvil as well as the second of the three Fantomas films and the 1966 drama Is Paris Burning? (as a member of the French resistance). He continued to appear in English language co-productions including Woman Times Seven (with Peter Sellers and Alan Arkin), Night of the Generals (with Peter O'Toole), Mayerling (with Omar Sharif and James Mason), The Day of the Jackal (with Edward Fox), Love and Death (with Woody Allen), and Alfie Darling (with Joan Collins). TV movies include Murders in the Rue Morgue (with George C. Scott), Hostage Tower (with Billy Dee Williams), and Lace (with Honor Blackman). Series TV included French-German co-production, playing Tom Morgan on Treasure Island (with Michael Ande) and Dr. Watson in "The Sign of Four" on the crime anthology Les grands détectives.
Entering dubbing in the late 1960s, Lumont lent his voice to William Conrad on later seasons of Cannon and on Jake and the Fatman, Geoffrey Holder in Live and Let Die, Marlon Brando in A Dry White Season, Danny DeVito in Terms of Endearment, and Jon Polito in Barton Fink. On TV, he dubbed Ron Masak on Murder, She Wrote and two different semi-regular Nazis on Hogan's Heroes: Leon Askin as General Burkhalter and Howard Caine as Major Hochstedder. Lumont was busiest in animation, however, heard in the Asterix animated films as various Roman soldiers, in Ballad of the Daltons, and dubbing Papa Mousekowitz and Warren T. Rat in An American Tail, Chief Quimby on Inspector Gadget, Spike on Heathcliff, and Bumblebee in Transformers: The Movie.
