Rogerschulman

Roger S. H. Schulman is a screenwriter and producer, best known for his work on sitcoms and animated features (notably co-writing Shrek). In the early 1980s, as his initial career, he wrote for magazines, often on technology topics.[1] In that capacity, he contributed to Muppet Magazine issue 6, getting "as told to" credit for Scooter's report on computer history. Later, he was a consulting producer on The Jim Henson Company's non-Muppet Unstable Fables direct-to-video features.

Schulman shifted to gag and comedy writing. Often teamed with David Steven Cohen, he wrote sitcom pilots and episodes of the short-lived sitcoms Fast Times and Mr. President (with George C. Scott and Madeline Kahn). He had more success with Cohen on ALF, as executive story consultants, writing an episode, and as story editors on the animated spin-off ALF Tales. The writing team contributed to Pee-wee's Playhouse and Tiny Toon Adventures before scripting and co-executive producing Parker Lewis Can't Lose.

While Schulman would rack more sitcom credits, he continued working in animation by co-writing the screenplay to the 1995 feature Balto, as well as episodes of Big Guy and Rusty the Boy Robot. 2001 brought Shrek (and an Oscar nomination for Best Original Screenplay), followed by script or story work on several Disney sequels (including The Jungle Book 2 and Bambi II). He returned to sitcoms, including Disney Channel series Phil of the Future and Jonas.
