Ron Darling

Big Bird and Ron Darling.

Ron Darling (b. 1960) is a former Major League Baseball Player who played for the New York Mets, the Oakland A's, and the Montreal Expos.

Darling appeared on Sesame Street in a few inserts during the 16th season, including showing Big Bird how to pitch a fastball (First: Episode 2093) and in a scene where Telly recognizes him from his baseball card. (First: Episode 2080)

• In the 1987 book Don't Be Shy, Snuffy shyly buys a pack of baseball cards at Hooper's Store. He vocally expressed the hope that it contains a "Ron Adorable" card (referencing Darling's surname).
