Rosie the Riveter is an American cultural icon representing women in the workforce replacing the men who fought in World War II. The most famous depiction is a poster created for the war effort by J. Howard Miller in 1942 called "We Can Do It!" Norman Rockwell followed in 1943 with his own depiction on the cover of The Saturday Evening Post.
