Sam Sleaze is the smarter of the unscrupulous Sleaze Brothers in Follow That Bird. The shifty Sam, with the aid of his gullible brother Sid Sleaze, runs the Sleaze Brothers Funfair, a rundown traveling carnival where the pair extort money from customers and boast such attractions as "The Invisible Gorilla."
After hearing of Big Bird's runaway status, the Sleazes kidnap Big Bird to be their star attraction. Sam does the planning for the two, handles the cash receipts, and takes a near sadistic delight in Big Bird's captivity (but more so in his profitability). He has also been known to steal apples from children. Shortly after Big Bird's rescue by his friends, Sam and Sid are arrested by a state trooper.
