"Same/Different Song" is a game played on Sesame Street.
Pictures of two or more items are presented and the children (and viewers) are asked to identify how they are the same and how they are different. The song and game are similar style to other sorting songs which appeared on the show.
The song is often sung once to demonstrate same: "How are these two things the same? How are these two things the same?"; and again to demonstrate different: "These two things are different too. These two things are different too."
A revised version of the song, played to a bossa nova beat, first started appearing in season 4, starting in Episode 0485. An alternate version of the song, written by Sam Pottle and David Axlerod, was used in Episode 0704.
