Revision as of 16:14, 20 January 2021

Inconsistencies we've found in scripts as part of the project described at Thread:253692. Once we have more final air versions, some of these may be appropriate for Sesame Street deleted scenes.

Changes from script to broadcast version

  • Episode 0032: significant changes to some of the street scenes including a sequence for Big Bird and Ernie
  • Episode 0265: script says Scene 7 was deleted, but it's present in the final cut.
  • Episode 0664: Some details in Scenes 3 and 4 are changed; Scene 6 features The Count instead of Charming
  • Episode 0702: Scene 2 in the script includes apologetic dialogue between Maria and Luis. In the aired version, the scene begins to transition to this moment, but quickly cuts away before their exchange begins.
  • Episode 0914: Script lists Kermit/John-John on street bit, but final episode has Herry/John-John loud/soft bit.
  • Episode 1090: Script has a "Kermit News" bit at beginning. Noggin and CTW Archive doc from UMD have an E&B bit in its place.
  • The script for Episode 1259 has a completely different street story from what ended up airing. The script's plot involved Oscar meeting Bruno and deciding to have his trash can moved to a different spot. While Bruno does appear in the episode as aired, he's only in one scene, which wasn't in the script. The episode's plot as broadcast ended up involving Big Bird wanting to be an animal trainer.
  • Episode 1474: script calls for the Countessmobile, but it doesn't appear in episode
  • Episode 2311: script contains several Street scenes not used in final version.

Supposed deleted segments

Segments or scenes that have been crossed out in the script, but we can't verify with an episode copy. Notable catalogue as we've found some crossed out segments that have appeared in the final cut after all.

  • Episode 0683: Oscar still pretending to be Maria, this time with a mask and a wig; then Gordon putting on an Oscar mask, making Oscar decide to go back to being himself.
  • Episode 0685: Big Bird appears in a photograph of the jungle.

Episode and season numbers cited as firsts

  • "Kermit News: Princess chooses a prince" is cited in scripts as first appearing in Episode 0843, but the script for 0843 has a handwritten note beside the scripted segment: "This bit does not appear in this item. Screen show for correct piece."
  • Episode 3537: Script says "Grover Heavy & Light" sketch appears in episode. Video reference confirms Two-Headed Monster skit in its place.
  • Scripts from season 19 and on cite the Kermit News "J Mine" segment as coming from season 18. The scripts for Episode 2302 and Episode 2322 (both from season 18) cite it as coming from season 17. No season 17 script includes the segment.
  • All script references to Kermit News "Cinderella: Fairy Godmother" cite season 19 as its origin, but no season 19 script acknowledges the first appearance (although the eka is 2442)
  • Script for Episode 0551 lists "Kermit News Three Little Pigs" with a first appearance of 462, but the script for Episode 0462 has "Kermit Rapunzel" penciled in.
