Sandy is featured in a 2002 episode of Sesame Street, in a segment remaking the original song "Captain Vegetable." Sandy takes the place of Andy from the original sketch.
Like Andy, Sandy gluttonously consumes candy with a passion and without remorse. Captain Vegetable, accompanied by Elmo, arrives to show her the errors of her ways (despite his resemblance to John Leguizamo). The vegetable hero converts the plate of candy to a bowl of healthy veggies (though Sandy thinks it could use some salt).
