Sangya Ojha

Sangya and Elmo

Sangya Ojha is a puppeteer, voice artist and actor from India. She performs Aanchoo, RayaElmo and other characters on Galli Galli Sim Sim.

Ojha was a part of the first group of performers selected to play the main Muppet cast of Galli Galli Sim Sim in 2006 and was trained by Martin P. Robinson and Noel MacNeal.

In 2014, Ojha helped unveil and launch Raya in the Gates Summit. In 2015, she traveled to Nigeria to perform Kami and Raya for a video highlighting Sesame Workshop's work in girl child education there.

Ojha also trained puppeteers for the Nigerian co-production Sesame Square and Afghanistan co-production Baghch-e-Simsim in 2016.

Beginning in season ten of Galli Galli Sim Sim, Ojha began playing Zari, Bel, and Lola as well.

Currently residing in Mumbai, Sangya Ojha runs her own puppetry initiative The Puppetarians doing live shows, television and video works and puppetry workshops all around the world. She appeared with her puppet creations in 'Dance India Dance' and 'Kaun Banega Crorepati' (Indian version of 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire') to name a few.
