Save the Children is an international non-profit organization dedicated to working for children.
A 1999 benefit event by the organization honored Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, and Joan Ganz Cooney. The event featured a performance by Harry Belafonte.[1]
The Swedish Chef appeared in print ads for Save the Children's National Donut Week in February 2003.
Kermit has mentioned Save the Children as a notable charity in several interviews, and the Muppets played on behalf of the organization when they appeared on Family Feud in 2001 and were the beneficiaries of the funds raised by The Muppet Show Live at MuppetFest.
In 2007, Miss Piggy appeared at a Save the Children benefit, and was photographed with Candice Bergen.
