PERFORMER Savion Glover
DEBUT 1989

Savion is a hip young guy seen on Sesame Street from Season 21 to Season 26. He and Gina were close in age, and the two were friends.

Savion frequently danced on the show. He also helped teach Elmo how to tap dance.

He appeared as early as Episode 2641, helping Mr. Macintosh teach some of the kids how to dance.

In a 1993 episode, Savion and Gina got a nasty phone call at Hooper's Store from someone who saw them hanging out together. They explained to Telly Monster that some people have problems with people of different races being friends.

On one episode, Big Bird and Snuffy were wondering what Savion was going to be when he grows up while seeing him tap dance all the time. Snuffy thought maybe he'd be a mailman and Big Bird thought he would be a medical doctor, and both of them thought that whichever one it would be if he would always tap dance while he's on the job. When they asked him what he wants to be when he grows up, Savion said a "tap dancer."
