See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Smell No Evil is a 32-page, 1975 Sesame Street scratch-and-sniff storybook.
Big Bird has just painted the new Sesame Street Clubhouse for the inaugural party. Because of the overpowering smell, Bert and Ernie try to cover the smell with roses (delivered by Prince Charming). Oscar the Grouch arrives and hates the sweet rose smell, countering with sardines. Other Muppets arrive, each with their own odiferous suggestion (including lemons, pine trees, and ginger snaps), as well as trying to blow the odors away.
The Amazing Mumford actually succeeds in making all of the scents disappear (though smoke, also scratch and sniffable, briefly replaces it). The party gets underway... until Big Bird finally returns with a "kitty cat" (actually a skunk).
Notes[]
- A Super Grover pinball machine adorns the clubhouse, as well as a poster of "Spidey" (complete with a minute The Electric Company logo).
- The book's title references the three wise monkeys proverb.
