Kermit reports from the town of Hamelin, "Which, as you may remember, is unfortunately overrun with mice." He explains that the town council has hired The Pied Piper to get rid of the infestation. The beatnik piper insists on being called simply "Pied" and explains his plan to the frog. However, upon playing his flute, he soon finds that the mice are not impressed with his tunes.
Convinced he's not going to get the story, Kermit calls to his camera crew to wrap it up, prompting them with a two-finger whistle. The sound captures the curiosity of the mice who begin to follow Kermit around. Encouraged by the Pied Piper, Kermit continues to whistle and leads the mice out of town, wrapping up his report.
