Sesamstraat viert feest is a 50-minute Sesamstraat special, commemorating the 40th anniversary of the show. It began screening on October 17, 2016 in the museum 'Beeld en Geluid' in Hilversum, and ran through the 29th. Every day it was shown six times a day. The special was subsequently be televised during the Christmas season.
Elmo plays the main character on the set. He takes the viewers with him on a journey to show them the highlights and fragments from the show's history. For the 40th anniversary there will be a party, but to get to this party, he needs some objects.
Martine Bijl makes a special guest appearance.
Storytime sessions[]
They were storytime sessions, just like they have in the show. One of the actors read a story and kids would sit down with them to listen.

Special Meet & Greet were held with walkarounds from Sesamstraat, like Bert and Ernie, Pino, Tommie or Elmo. The times you would meet with them are 11:00 - 11:30 | 12:00 - 12:30 | 1:30 - 2:00 | 2:30 - 3:00 PM.

There was a Knutsel Hoek (Crafts Corner) for kids to color, paint or make crafts related to Sesamstraat. And you let Feest Tantes (Party Aunties) paint your face on the Schmink Plaza like Pino, Purk, Ieniemienie or every other character from the street you love. (11:30 - 2:30 PM)
