Seu Almeida appeared for the first time in 1972, in the children's program Vila Sésamo (the Brazilian version of Sesame Street). The character was interpreted by Manoel Inocêncio during the years of 1972 until 1977 (year when Vila Sésamo ended), Seu Almeida was one of the protagonists of the program.
In the program, Seu Almeida works as seller of a warehouse (called "Armazém do Seu Almeida", that would be translated as "Warehouse Seu Almeida"), he interacts with all the other characters in the program inside or outside his store, and is recurrently seen by everyone.
Although he does not have a fundamental role in Vila Sésamo, he is very important in some didactic short. He appeared, or at least was mentioned, in all episodes of the program.
